it happened

it finally happened-
after all these years of homeschooling,
maybe in my heart i thought for some reason we were immune.
Neil said it was bound to happen.
But, if i'm honest, i will whisper that i had hoped it wouldn't.

One of our littles asked if they could go to public school.

So, that's what's on my mind today.
i always promised myself that if one of them asked, that i would at least consider their request - & i feel like it wouldn't be right to just say no without getting input from Neil - & asking my Father to help us make the best decisions that we can for this little person.
& so, i'll do that.

I was schooled in a private church school for most of my elementary education. In second grade, however, I decided to try public school. The experience was ok, but after that I returned to the church school. I didn't go to public school again until the eighth grade. By then, I was a little more prepared to deal with annoying classmates. :-)

Public school isn't so bad. It can allow a child to learn how to deal with different people who have different ideas and experiences. It can also give them the opportunity to succeed in a new environment. Some kids sometimes need someone other than mommy to grade their assignments.

Praying for wisdom from our Loving Father. I don't envy your situation, and know what I would do...but that's for me.
Hugs!! I second what Lisa said, you WILL do best by them, because you have a tender heart that is respectful to your children (whether they get what they want or not!) and you're tender toward your Abba. Another hug!! lol

I was just having the "which kind of schooling is best" conversation over lunch with some friends yesterday. One of the older and wiser ones said that if she could go back in time, she would have chosen differently for her daughter than she did for her son. Until that point, that idea had never occurred to me. I assumed you made one choice and then, as best you could, tailored the program to suit each individual learner's strengths. So many choices...it is a blessing and a curse to the Mummy. Trust yourself...you probably already know what to do. Lx

Oh, Paige - I was wondering if/when this would happen, too. Thank you for being transparent enough to share. I will be praying for you as you navigate this tender territory ~ each child being created so uniquely and having different needs ~ the Father will give you wisdom.

*hugs*
