treasuring in my heart

i love these people... & i'm so grateful to God for making me a mama.

Learning so much from marriage.  One of the best ways that i can serve God is by loving this man...

i love this picture because Gagey was taking it & all of a sudden he got crazy distracted, "Ephyum!!  Ephyum!!"  Little stinker was stealing his brothers raisins that i was supposed to be guarding for him.

What a beautiful family!

Paige: I have a request. I know that we only know each other virtually but I need you to help me pray. I know you are devoting lots of time to prayer but I really feel like I should contact you.

My very, very good friend Louise had a baby, Julia, 2 weeks ago. Julia has a serious heart condition, which they found out about in the first trimester. Louise was offered an abortion but didn't take it saying that Julia was her miracle:-) Julia needs a heart operation immediately but since birth she has been experiencing problems with her liver and gallbladder. They won't operate on her heart until they find out what else is happening inside her tiny little body.
She is running out of time, they say.
I've been praying so hard. I don't actually know what to pray for...I just pray for everything. Julia's health, strength for Louise and her husband. Today I realized that I have not asked others to help me pray. I have now sent a prayer request to my Christian ladies group here and to my church but you have been on my mind so much this week as I have been praying for all involved in the 40 days vigil...I thought maybe you could send a little prayer over the ocean to us.
Thanks for listening.

oh lesley - we will add Julia (and her mama & daddy).. .to our prayer list - we have several other little ones that we have been praying for daily.
It's one of the reasons i want to understand more about prayer - how it works - how it benefits us to seek God's heart & have Him hear our pitiful requests.
i feel like prayer is still so much of a mystery to me - even after so much of it & so many years being a believer.... & yet - the more i press in - & am drawn in - the more convinced i am that there is something immeasurably valuable in the time spent on our knees.

Father God - we bring this little one to You today... You - the creator, the healer - you know exactly what is happening in this little one's body... You're the one who knit her together in her mother's womb. Will you please heal her tiny heart?
It took courage for her mama & daddy when faced with anguish - to gratefully choose *life* - would you give them the strength that they need right now as they walk the road that You have laid out for them?
i pray for lesley too - that she would be an encourager - that she would have the words to pray and the courage to pray them - in Jesus' name, amen.

Psalm 139
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
1 You have searched me, LORD,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, LORD,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
