The other night - all manner of threats had been uttered - & yet we kept seeing little pixie girl's head poke into our room. It was way past her bedtime & she had been tucked in, sent to bed, ordered to bed, asked to leave & begged to retire.
Finally Neil lost it... "PEYTON, IF I SEE YOUR FACE IN HERE AGAIN..."
Tiny bum disappearing down the hallway...
But, not 10 minutes later, we saw that cheshire grin outside our door.
"WHAT??!!" Neil exploded.
"Um, well, Sloanie is reading & it's really hard for me to fall asleep..."
"Well, put a pillow over your face, & try to go to sleep anyway."
"O.K."
"You're lucky you had a reason for coming in here."
"Yea, well - i really just came in here to say hi, but when i saw your face i knew i had to think up something quick."
How quickly they learn...

hehehe - that's cute!
Too familiar... but usually around here they use the excuse that they have to use the washroom (the bedroom door is right next to the bathroom and if the bedroom door is open, we can see the kids "streaking" past.) But it does make one wonder how you can put a kid to bed for their 8:30 p.m. bedtime and they are still running amok at 9:45 p.m. -- and on a school night too! Nice to know other parents face the same issues!

[laughing] Ah, kids. Hilarious. They do learn, don't they?

HEHE... The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it? Remember the time when we heard you telling your sisters, "Mom was gonna spank me but I cutened her out of it." Then there's the story my Dad likes to tell of me rolling a pop bottle back and forth with my sister accross the room...and after several warnings he came charging up the stairs to read the riot act and found us both kneeling in prayer by our beds...with the pop bottle still slowly rolling across....(I'm sure our prayers were heartfelt too..hehe)
That is just so sweet!
